Blanco was . demanded today by the Fourth International in a cable to the Peruvian government protesting the arrest of the world famous leader of the

ants of Peru whose actions have been an inspiration to the peasan- Ere throughout Latin America. The cable also protested the continued detainment of Ismael Frias, Peruvian Trotskyist leader,

"Hugo Blanco, the cable declared, "is guilty of no crime but that of a heroic effort to liberate the peasants in the Peruvian Andes from their age-old servitude and feudal-capitalist expioitetions®

In a circular sent to labor organizations,.the Fourth Internationsl said there was grave danger that the dictatorial Feruvien government would kill Hugo Blanco after a drumhead trial.

The Fourth International urged the sending or telecrams, letters ef protest and petitions to the Peruvisen authorities. It asked that picket lines be organized before Peruvian consulates wherever poscidls.
