A military court in Athens condemned Anastasios Kokoris, a thirty-threeyear-old businessman, to four years in prison October 11. He was found guilty of trying to hoist a banner above the Acropolis bearing the inscription, "Democracy 114.
The number 114 refers to the final article in the Greek constitution, which was suspended by the generals who seized power April 21. The article reads: "The present Constitution is to be safeguarded by the patriotism of the Hellenes."
