Municipal Workers of Santiago, which was held on December 18-19, passed a motion demanding the release of Hugo Blanco.
The motion was presented by a delegation from the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria headed by the working-class leaders Humberto Valenzuela and Iuis Ulloa.
The delegates at the congress represented 8,000 workers.
