Although it was reported that torture of political prisoners by electric shock had been stopped in August 1963 after the Ngudle inquest, it is again in prevalent use by the South African police, according to an attorney, Joel Joffe. In London April 28, he said that magistrates courts found undefended Africans almost automati-=cally guilty on political charges. ;
